I left camp around 7:40 in the morning. That was a bit ahead of Firefly, AKA and Mirthful. The hike was easy on the dirt road. About 10 cars passed me during the walk. I briefly saw a fox on the path, before fleeing into the undergrowth.

Clouds hanging over the hills on this morning’s hike.

Just some pretty fall colors

I read most of the signs along the railroad track shortly before Snoqualmie Pass, which was interesting. The rail line used to be part of a line from Milwaukee to Seattle. Here they dug a 2 mile long tunnel under a mountain (Snoqualmie Tunnel).

One of the signs along the train track. This describes the railway line itself.

I managed to hitchhike the last mile of the road to the Summit Inn, where the four of us will share a hotel room tonight. The hotel has a sauna and hot tub.

I called mom and we talked for about 45 minutes.

We went to the deli/bar across the street for dinner and ate at the brewery next door.

Back in the room, something strange was happening with my electronics. My battery bank said something about «charging stops when something else is connected» (or that’s how I interpreted it). I then plugged into a different outlet and everything seemed fine. But when I unplugged my InReach, I couldn’t turn it on anymore. That worries me.
