The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will meet all Indian Super League (ISL) clubs at the Football House in New Delhi on November 18 to discuss a possible window for the 2025-2026 ISL season.
“After a meeting with all clubs on November 12, we have scheduled a follow-up meeting on November 18. We are also hoping for a positive direction from the Supreme Court to take Indian football forward,” AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey said. Sports stars.
«Accordingly, we want to hold the competition between January 1 and May 31. That’s 187 matches in 150 days, if 14 teams play, which could decrease if the number of teams decreases. But it is mathematically possible and has happened before.»
“So we have called the clubs to discuss this, and if all goes well, we plan to take the matter to the Supreme Court on November 19.”

The future of the ISL has remained uncertain this season, with the league’s organizers – Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) – and AIFF failing to agree on a future deal, with the current contract expiring in December. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) from the AIFF for ISL’s commercial partner has also not attracted any bids till the November 7 deadline.
As a result, several clubs – Kerala Blasters, Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Odisha FC – have suspended their activities, while ISL players have come out with a joint statement to start the league as soon as possible.
At the meeting on November 12, ISL clubs and players decided to file individual petitions in the apex court, seeking an urgent solution to the ISL impasse.
Before the meeting on November 18, clubs have been told to come up with ‘proposals’ and ‘recommendations’ for the competition to take place at the earliest, with one of the windows scheduled to be between January and May.
However, logistical challenges remain the biggest obstacle to such an ambitious plan. The ISL has failed to attract a commercial partner and has no streaming-cum-broadcast partner, both of which are handled by FSDL.
