Bengaluru FC has parted ways with head coach Gerard Zaragoza by mutual agreement, with assistant coach Sebastian Vega and strength and conditioning coach Ioannis Gkiokas also leaving the club. The Blues thanked Zaragoza and his staff for their contributions and wished them the best of luck in their next endeavours.
Assistant coach Renedy Singh has been appointed as interim head coach and will take charge of the first team with immediate effect.
The change comes at a time of greater uncertainty in Indian football, with the recent Indian Super League tender process closing without any bids.
Under Zaragoza, who was appointed in December 2023, the club finished fourth in the 2024–2025 ISL league stage with 38 points from 24 matches, amassing 11 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses, while scoring 40 goals and conceding 31.
He also guided Bengaluru to the ISL Cup final, where the team fell just short of the title. Over the 46 matches in which he was in charge, Zaragoza recorded a winning percentage of 43.48%, with an overall record of 20 wins, 8 draws and 18 defeats.
