The Netherlands will be without forward Justin Kluivert for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lithuania – a match in which the Dutch could secure a place in the tournament.
«Justin Kluivert suffered an injury in the match against Poland on Friday. This means that he cannot play against Lithuania tomorrow. The midfielder returned to his club Bournemouth this morning,» the Dutch national team said in a statement.
Justin, son of former Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert, made his senior international debut in 2018 and has an assist in the current World Cup qualifiers.

He has played all but one of the seven qualifying matches, with the only exception being the away match against Lithuania, which the Dutch won 3-2.
The Netherlands top Group G of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers with 17 points and a draw against Lithuania would seal its place in next year’s World Cup, to be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
