Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss the Champions League trip to Olympiacos due to a stomach flu, the Spanish giants said on Tuesday.
The Belgian stopover «has been diagnosed with a viral gastroenteritis», Madrid said in a statement ahead of Wednesday’s match in Athens.
Andriy Lunin will take the place of the record 15-time champion, who is seventh in the rankings.
Madrid have failed to win their last three games in all competitions, including a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the previous Champions League match.
Madrid, which reached the quarter-finals last season, has nine points from four games.
