Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) on Wednesday officially announced the appointment of Sergio Lobera Rodriguez as the club’s new head coach.
Lobera replaces Jose Molina and will oversee the Mariners for the remainder of the current season.
The Spanish tactician will begin training sessions with the squad, including key figures such as Jamie Maclaren, Jason Cummings and Vishal Kaith, from November 30.
The reigning Indian Super League (ISL) champions confirmed the move just hours after Odisha FC announced Lobera’s departure.
After signing the contract, Lobera said: «Taking charge of Mohun Bagan Super Giant is a huge honor for me. This club has a lot of history, passion and ambition. I am determined to build a team that will play with courage, a unique identity and a winning mentality. We will work together to make this chapter unforgettable.»
The Spaniard further added, «This team has the talent and spirit capable of dominating Indian football. I have come here to take that potential to greater heights. Mohun Bagan deserves to be at the top, and we will work every day to make that dream a reality.»
