Maharashtra’s football program ‘Project Mahadeva’ was launched during Lionel Messi’s GOAT Tour at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
It is a five-year state-backed initiative that aims to overhaul the identification process of young footballers and replace it with a proper model and training program, and prepare them for international pathways.
The project is being implemented with the collaboration of Western India Football Association (technical expertise, scouting and assessment), MITRA & VSTF (administrative and academic support), CIDCO (infrastructure) and the Ministry of Sports (coordination and policy implementation).
