Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra recorded big wins in their respective Santosh Trophy 2025-26 group stage matches against Andhra Pradesh and DNHDD FT (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu) on Friday.
In a battle between two teams from the North East, Manipur defeated Mizoram 3-1. Ladakh defeated Himachal Pradesh 1-0.
Thirty-five teams will compete in the group stage (December 15-26), consisting of nine groups (eight groups with four teams and one group with three).
The group winner will join hosts Assam, last season’s champions West Bengal and runners-up Kerala in the 12-team final round to be held in Dhakuakhana and Dhemaji.
