East Bengal won the first SAFF Women’s Club Championship on Wednesday by beating APF 3-0 in the final at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu.
Tournament top scorer Fazila Ikwaput opened the scoring for East Bengal in the 22nd minute before Shilky Hemam doubled the lead in the 35th minute.
Ikwaput scored again, for her 10th goal of the competition, in the opening minute of the second period, sealing victory for Anthony Andrews’ side.
The Moshal Girls qualified for the tournament after winning the Indian Women’s League for the first time in April.
