The Catalans opened the scoring in the 12th minute when they were awarded a penalty, which was successfully converted by Raphinha.
Aiming to get back into the match, the evening took a turn for the worse for Villarreal after Renato Veiga saw red, which was confirmed by VAR.

Hansi Flick’s men scored their second in the 63rd minute, when Frenkie de Jong set up Yamal for his sixth league goal of the season.
The victory keeps Barcelona in the lead with 46 points from 18 games, four ahead of arch-rivals Real Madrid, who are second after a 2-0 win over Sevilla on Saturday. Atletico Madrid is third with 37 points.
