Bournemouth grabbed a point by stuttering Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday, forcing a 2-2 draw after a frantic first half.
Two goals from long throws and nervous defending were Chelsea’s downfall and they failed to climb back into the top four of the standings with one win in their last seven games.
It took six minutes for Bournemouth to shock the home side when David Brooks curled home a shot that had deflected off goalkeeper Robert Sanchez from a long throw.
Cole Palmer equalized from the spot in the 15th minute after a delayed VAR check due to a foul in the penalty area on Antoine Semenyo’s Estevao.
Enzo Fernandez put Chelsea ahead eight minutes later with a side step and a shot as the action flowed from start to finish with chances for Liam Delap and Estevao on one side and Marcus Tavernier and Brooks on the other.

Justin Kluivert brought Bournemouth level again in the 27th, smashing home Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah’s miscued header after another throw from Semenyo.
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana said his side had tried to give everything.
«But when you concede two goals like that, it becomes complicated at this level. We just didn’t see the game in the second half. We created chances but didn’t score, so it was difficult,» he told the BBC.
From the half-hour mark the match calmed down as Chelsea gained more control, but the 67.3% possession failed to translate into goals as it buzzed fruitlessly around Bournemouth’s goal.
Both sides had a total of 17 shots, with the best chances in the second half going to Estevao, who saw his effort expertly saved by former Chelsea keeper Djordje Petrovic, and Bournemouth substitute Enes Unal, who fired over in stoppage time.
Disappointed home fans, who saw their side defeated by Aston Villa three days ago, booed at the final whistle.
