Day 38 in Te Araroa

“It will be magical or miserable, whether you are excited for the adventure,” were my thoughts at 7:00am as we approached the trailhead for Tongariro Crossing.

We knew it would snow because an old man was waiting at the trailhead warning hikers about the conditions.

I continued, still feeling prepared, but unsure how I was going to layer properly. I didn’t want to sweat too much and then get cold. Worn layered with a shirt over a hoodie for the sun and it was a good 2g!! …
