Center-Forward Igor Jesus turned out to be the hero for Botafogo, because the Brazilian club made European Champion Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in a group phase match in the FIFA Club World Cup, in the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, United States, Thursday.
Igor, the 24-year-old Brazilian, scored the only goal of the game in the 36th minute.
Since his professional debut for Coritiba in 2019, Igor has played 194 games, scored 65 goals and helped 28.
He played four seasons for Emirati Club Shabab al-Ahli (from 2020 to 2024), where he played a crucial role in securing four trophies, including the VAE Pro League, VAE League Cup and two UAE Supercups. In 87 performances for the club he found 43 times the back of the net and helped 20.

In July 2024 he signed at Botafogo and has since been a striking player in front of the side, making it the title of the Top Division and the Copa Libertadores to win. Later, in October, he made his international debut for Brazil against Chile in a FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification match and scored in the first half in the first minute.
Where does Igor go to the next season?
According to De Telegraaf» Igor is close to completing a move to Premier League Club Nottingham Forest, managed by Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest plays European football for the first time since 1995-96 after the seventh in the Premier League season 2024-25. The team will participate in the Europa Conference League.
