Hugo Boumous leaves Odisha FC ahead of the ISL season and goes on loan to a Malaysian club

Midfielder Hugo Boumous becomes the latest high-profile foreign player to leave the Indian Super League club ahead of the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

The Frenchman has left Odisha FC and is on loan to Selangor FC of Malaysia until the end of the season. “I wish him all the best for the journey ahead,” the ISL outfit said in a statement on Tuesday.

Other foreigners who have left their ISL clubs ahead of the season, which starts on February 14, include last season’s Golden Boot winner Alaaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC) and Kerala Blasters duo Adrian Luna and Noah Sadaoui.
