Roma and Fiorentina fans were banned after a motorway collision

AS Roma and Fiorentina supporters were banned from traveling to away matches by the Italian Interior Ministry until the end of this season after violent clashes on a motorway at the weekend.

Groups of fans from both clubs clashed on the A1 motorway near Bologna on Sunday, with around 200 people, many armed with clubs, sticks and hammers, involved in the violence that took place on the hard shoulder.

Fiorentina fans were on their way to their team’s match in Bologna, while Roma supporters traveled to Turin for the match against Torino.

In 2023, Roma and Napoli fans were banned from attending away matches for two months after they also collided on the A1 motorway.
