Inter Milan fell two goals behind in their relegation battle against Pisa but fought back to earn a 6-2 win at San Siro on Saturday and continue their Serie A title run this season.
Stefano Moreo scored twice to give Pisa a 2-0 lead, the first thanks to a howler from goalkeeper Yann Sommer, but by half-time Inter had staged a comeback with the score at 3-2. Piotr Zielinski converted a penalty and Lautaro Martinez and Francesco Pio Esposito scored with headers.
Inter missed many chances to put Pisa away in the second half before Federico Dimarco found the net eight minutes from time, while Ange-Yoan Bonny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored once each to add some sparkle to the victory.
«There was the desire to win the match. We didn’t start very well, but the most important thing was to score at least one goal in the first half and we scored three,» Dimarco said. DAZN.
“It happens that you make a mistake in the approach by playing so much, the main thing was to overturn it.”
With the win, Inter moved to 52 points, six ahead of second-placed AC Milan, who go out to AS Roma on Sunday, while champions Napoli are third on 43 points before facing Juventus. Pisa is at the bottom of the rankings with 14 points.

Inter controlled the early exchanges before gifting Pisa an eleventh-minute lead. Sommer came out of his area to collect a back pass, but his wayward ball to Zielinski was met first time by Moreo’s lobbed effort from distance with the ‘keeper in no man’s land’.
Pisa doubled their lead 12 minutes later when Moreo met Matteo Tramoni’s corner at the near post and fired a header past Sommer.
Inter were given a lifeline six minutes before half-time when Zielinski’s shot in the area was handled by Tramoni. Zielinski stepped up and smashed the penalty through the middle into the roof of the net.
Two minutes later the hosts were level, with Martinez heading Dimarco’s floating ball into the six-yard area. In stoppage time of the first half, Esposito then fired a header into the net after a cross from Alessandro Bastoni.
Dimarco’s volley effort hit both posts before crossing the line as Inter finally earned their dominance in the second half and four minutes from the end Bonny collected Dimarco’s pass, drove forward into the penalty area and found the net from a wide angle.
Mkhitaryan headed a header over the line after a corner in injury time, so that Inter can now concentrate again on the Champions League, where it travels to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
