Have you thought, like me, about all the possible ways to die while hiking the Appalachian Trail? I know that in my macabre mind I have imagined almost every possible way to succumb to death. As someone who likes to plan my gear choices, my food, and my route, why shouldn’t I also think about all the ways to die and whether I can prevent them or at least lessen them?
