Day 65ish there are no miles today thanks to Altra Shoes.
New shoe design
When we left four Knockerz Hostel pins, I needed to replace their Altra Olympus 5 shoes. They had a 2 -inch break on the side. We both had the Altra Olympus 5 (design of recent years) that had been excellent shoes for both of hundreds of miles on our walk.
Altra 5 was no longer in stock, so he decided to obtain the Altra Olympus 6 (this year version). Altra dismissed the design of the five. What was a soft Achilles ankle pad changed to a «half -inch clustered pad that stands out in the Achilles.
Those packages were torn in their Achilles heel creating deep cuts in their Achilles skin. We recorded the cuts and padded the skin of moles repeatedly, but they were scratching more and more on their ankles while we walked.
Yesterday we went down the Mau-Har path and back, at which time both Kneaterz Achilles shoes were completely shattered by these shoes.

As usual, the path provided. One day of hiker was walking towards Reid Gap and we started chatting with him. It turns out that he knows a great friend of ours. When we arrived at Reid Gap, he offered a trip to the brewery.
We asked him what direction he was going and said he could take us anywhere. So we took a trip from him to Waynesboro.
Why ruin a great Altra shoes design?
Kneaterz Achilles ankles are completely torn by Altra shoes. I don’t know why they changed the design of a large shoe and ruined it. And so far they have ruined our walk. It seems that we cannot take a break with these injuries and diseases.
Knockerz knows pain and has suffered a lot of pain. Cancer treatments were years of chemotherapy, radiation and painful surgeries. These treatments left their hip screwed so that he has pain climber on the path. I have seen her drag her steep leg while we have climbed the path of the Apalaches. He was becoming stronger and able to climb better while we put thousands behind us.
In our walking attempts, he has had a broken doll, a respiratory disease and other doctors who have moved us away. She has endured all that pain and returns every time you walk hundreds of miles with me.

I saw her win with pain after the first day of hiking with these new Altra Olympus 6 shoes. However, she went ahead. After several days in these shoes, the pain was too intense to go further, so we went to urgent attention in Waynesboro.
The urgent care doctor said he has seen numerous hikers with deep blisters like these. She told Knockerz that the ampoule holes will only deepen more and more until they reach the bone or tendon. She must stop walking now due to these shoes. Tomorrow I will start only the Shenies. She has been with me for hundreds of miles and now I will be walking alone continuing our rolling band north. We hope that after a few weeks outside the path, he can meet with me again on the path.
