Defending champions West Bengal were knocked out of the 2025-26 Santosh Trophy after the 33-time champions lost 2-3 to Services on penalties in a quarter-final match at Dhakukhana Football Stadium in Assam on Tuesday.
The last eight match ended 0-0 after extra time, meaning the winner had to be determined via a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Kerala advanced to the semi-finals with a 3-0 win over hosts Assam.
In another quarter-final, Punjab triumphed over Tamil Nadu 4-1 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 after extra time. Jatinder Singh Rana put Punjab ahead in the 37th minute before M. Umasankar restored parity in the 84th minute.
It was an easy entry into the last four for Railways after the three-time winners defeated Rajasthan 2-0 thanks to late goals from Saurabh Bhanwala and Johnson Joseph Mathews.
