Goodbye old knee Hello AT
Not only am I starting a new life, but I will be preparing for a new part of my body. I have had many surgeries and bits and pieces have been removed. They have never put anything new on me!!! I heard a lot of advice, I heard horrible stories of pain and suffering. It all sounds terrible. Let me tell you a few things about myself. I’ll share some of the story with you. Here I come!
The journey begins here
I came out of my surgery very well. It hasn’t been a week and I think I’m ahead. Reading everyone’s posts, comments and suggestions is very helpful. Whether you are hiking alone or in a group, The Trek has been phenomenal!
Tomorrow I will see my surgeon, they will remove the bandage and I will be able to work harder. For me, it’s deep inside. Challenging myself is my biggest obstacle. Even if I set small goals and achieve them, it builds confidence. Confidence seems to be more than just a word. Is it an emotion? Hhhhmmm, I’m not sure.
Thank you all for contributing to this amazing community. After my final appointment with my surgeon, my AT journey will be more of a reality.
Do any of you have a routine that makes, from start to finish, a ritual? I’m just curious. I’ve had some time to reflect on things. Bon voyage, my beautiful fellow hikers! I send blessings to all!!!
