ISL 2025-26: East Bengal sign Spanish forward Youssef Ezzejjari


East Bengal FC have announced the signing of experienced Spanish striker Youssef Ezzejjari ahead of the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season.

Ezzejjari, who will wear jersey number nine, is known for his physicality, aerial skills and sharp instincts Recurso.

The 32-year-old is expected to add firepower and leadership to the East Bengal forward line as the club look to improve on last season’s ninth-place finish.

Welcoming Ezzejjari to the squad, East Bengal Head of Football Thangboi Singto said: «Youssef is a proven goalscorer with the experience and mentality we need. He will significantly strengthen our attack as we strive for ISL success.»

The forward joins the Red & Gold Brigade after a successful spell with Tanjong Pagar United in the Singapore Premier League. He played his last match just ten days ago.

Born in Santa Coloma De Gramenet, Ezzejjari brings a wealth of experience having played across Asia, including notable stints with Spanish side Grameret, Matro and Oyonesa, Andorra’s Carroi, Indonesian side Persik Keyra United and Cambodian side Vishas FC.

Head coach Oscar Bruzon said: «Youssef joins us as a strategic addition to strengthen our squad. His profile matches the competitive standards we demand, and we believe his qualities will help drive the team towards our objectives. He arrives with the clear aim of helping the team score goals and add a greater attacking threat.»
