Post-surgical survival: the walk

Starting again

In this known year I have started again with a new knee. I followed up with my surgeon and was very happy with how things were looking. I have been doing everything the doctor and physical therapist recommended. The last 24 hours have been difficult, but I pushed myself and got through it. If you know it, you know it.

Digging down

I’m dealing with this new knee and I’m reading everything you all share. I want to thank you, you all inspire me. I find it all so amazing. I’m thinking about getting to Memorial weekend, when I want to start my first stint on the AT.

When did you know it was what you wanted to do, feeling like you had to do it? All of you…all your posts and messages keep me grounded. I’m learning a lot! Thank you!! Reading what you have experienced or are experiencing right now makes me learn a lot. All I have to do is heal my knee and get on with it. I really have to dig deeper.

Moving forward

Memorial weekend is coming soon. Will I be ready? Where do I start? Actually. I think I could start a list. Will I start and haven’t prepared adequately? Eek! I’m sitting here, recovering. Seriously 6666lreal, do any of you make a list??? I’m not going to copy a complete list, I need guidance. I need a starting point.

A few more days, I see my surgeon. He will decide if I need a skin graft. Due to my surgery, this small section of my knee may need additional help. I do a lot to keep myself moving and do all the PT. I am very grateful for this community. Thank you all!!!
