The 2025-2026 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) is almost upon us and the new season starts on Saturday.
This is the first time that the ISL will have four Indian coaches. Here’s everything you need to know about them:
Renedy Singh – Head Coach, Bengaluru FC
On March 12, 2019, Renedy Singh was appointed manager of I-League club NEROCA. He later became interim manager of Indian Super League side East Bengal during the 2021-22 season.

After his stint with East Bengal, Bengaluru FC brought in Renedy as their new assistant coach. Following the departure of Gerard Zaragoza on November 14, 2025, Renedy was appointed interim coach of the club.
Subsequently, on January 14, 2026, Bengaluru FC announced Renedy as the club’s head coach for the 2025-2026 season.
Clifford Miranda – Head Coach, Chennaiyin FC
Clifford Miranda retired in 2017 and moved to coaching at FC Goa under Derrick Pereira. He became head coach of Goa’s reserve side in 2018 and won the 2018/19 Goa Professional League.
Promoted to the senior team as an assistant coach, he took over as interim head coach in February 2020 and guided Goa to the ISL League Shield, helping the club become the first Indian side to qualify for the group stages of the AFC Champions League.
In 2022, he joined Odisha FC as an assistant coach and was appointed interim head coach in March 2023. He led Odisha to their first major trophy – the 2023 Indian Super Cup – becoming the first Indian coach to achieve the feat, and also secured qualification for the group stages of the AFC Cup.
Miranda later served as an assistant coach at Mohun Bagan SG, where she briefly acted as caretaker in 2024, while she was also appointed head coach of India U23 in 2023. In July 2024, he joined Mumbai City FC as an assistant coach.
On October 18, 2025, Miranda was appointed as the head coach of Chennaiyin FC.
TG Purushothaman – Head Coach, Odisha FC
After his retirement, TG Purushothaman started coaching at Josco FC in 2010, where he served as an assistant coach during multiple I-League 2nd Division campaigns. He later joined FC Kerala in 2014, where he was also a director, and helped the club reach the I-League 2nd Division in 2017-18. He was also part of Kerala’s coaching staff for the Santosh Trophy.
In 2021, he became head coach of the Kerala Blasters reserve team and was part of Kerala’s Santosh Trophy-winning staff in 2021-2022. Promoted to assistant coach of the Blasters’ first team in 2023, he was named interim head coach in December 2024. Under his tenure, the club recorded a 3-0 win over Mohammedan SC and registered its first ever away win against Chennaiyin FC in January 2025.

Mehrajuddin Wadoo – Head Coach, Mohammedan SC
