This country needs more hiking

This is not a political position.

This is a perspective post.

Hiking helps restore perspective. Helps reset priorities. Which is really important. Walking. Talking. Explorer. Laugh. Appreciating.

Walking. Get out and walk. Do exercise. Breathe fresh air. People don’t go out and walk enough anymore. It is good for the body and good for the soul. Going on a hike is a great way to walk!

Talking. Greet people. Meet people. Making friends. Meeting people. Be curious about other people’s lives. Old fashioned… talking. We live in a digital world now. (Damn, I’m writing these words instead of saying them!) People don’t talk to people enough anymore. Hiking is a great way to talk to people!

Explorer. Wow, we live in a beautiful country. And I’m from Maine, possibly the most beautiful state in the country. (Sorry, a little trolling!) However, every day as I walk this Appalachian Trail, when I look around, I am struck by the natural beauty. Really impressed. I mean, really, really impressed. Taking a hike is a great way to explore!

Laugh. People are fun. Life is fun. Laughing is fun. Laughing makes you happy. Laughing reminds you that things are going pretty well. People don’t laugh enough anymore. We could all use a little more laughter. A little more of a feeling that everything is pretty good. You laugh a lot when you walk with people!

Appreciating. Hiking relieves stress, clears your mind and makes you think about things a little more. Gratitude is good. Appreciating things is good. Great things. Little things. Past things. All of them deserve our recognition. Hiking is a grateful activity!

Now don’t get me wrong. Some parts of hiking, especially long distance hiking, really suck. Lihat juga rfv6. Rain, mud, trips, falls, cuts, scrapes, pain, cold nights, cold mornings, wet clothes, smelly clothes, soft food. I could go on and on. But all this shit finds its place in a world of walking, talking, exploring, laughing and appreciating. And that makes the suction a little bit smaller.

Just like in our lives, some things really suck. And surely, sometimes the suction is too much. For anyone. But maybe some of it sucks (most of it sucks?) just needs to stay in place. In perspective. Dressed appropriately along with everything else.

Go out. Take a walk. Let a good walk give you a renewed perspective. It feels great!
