Real Madrid manager Alonso reveals roles for Mbappe, Vinicius; gives a transfer update about Rodrygo

The new Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso warned the stars of his team, including Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe on Wednesday that they all have to throw defensive.

Last season under Carlo Ancelotti, The whites Can’t win a big trophy and the Italian was sometimes annoyed with the unwillingness of his forward line to work hard enough because of the team as a whole.

«I am sure that we need and want everyone to defend – the 11 players on the field must be involved defensively,» Alonso told a press conference prior to Madrid’s Club World Cup collision against RB Salzburg.

“They have to get close to each other, they need to know how we want to print, and without that things will be very complicated.

«Vini, Jude (Bellingham), Fede (Valverde), Kylian, who must also improve in the front.»

Ancelotti had said last season that he was not worried whether Mbappe insisted or not and wanted the striker to concentrate on goals.

The 26-year-old earned 43 goals in all competitions in his first season in the Santiago Bernabeu after his move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid will be confronted on Thursday with Austrian Zij Salzburg in Philadelphia, looking for the top position in his last group H match, but will be without Mbappe.

In the second game of Madrid, a 3-1 victory on the Mexican side Pachuca, Brazilian attacker Rodrygo remained on the couch, in the midst of speculation he was able to leave the club this summer.

Alonso said, however, that the Brazilian was still a valuable member of the team.

«He is doing well, he is enthusiastic, it was a technical decision (to bench him) recently, but Rodrygo is still an important player, we need him in this club world cup,» said Alonso.
