Cristiano Ronaldo has written a new contract extension with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, the Portuguese attacker and the club announced on Thursday.
The new deal will see the 40-year stay in Nassr until 2027.
«A new chapter begins. The same passion, the same dream. Let’s write history together,» Ronaldo posted on his official X account.
This announcement ends a period of speculation around the future of the player in the club with which he was connected to in 2022 after he posted a cryptic message at the end of the 2024-25 season. «This chapter is over. The story is still being written. All grateful,» it was said.
He had confirmed earlier this month that he will not be part of the current FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
He has recorded 93 goals and 19 assists in 105 performances in all competitions for the Saudi club, but still has to win a competition title.
In the recently closed season, Al Nassr finished third in the point table, where he abused a place in the AFC Champions League elite of next year and will play in the AFC Champions League 2 instead.
Moreover, NASSR is currently without manager after Stefano Pioli has left the role on Wednesday, making him the third full -time coach who leaves since the arrival of Ronaldo.
The former striker from Real Madrid recently celebrated his third international title when Portugal Spain beat to win the UEFA Nations League.
