Unlike the first match, Iran’s national women’s team saluted and sang their national anthem before their AFC Women’s Asian Cup match against Australia at Gold Coast Stadium on Thursday.
Iran has been embroiled in a conflict with the United States of America and Israel since February 28, when the country was attacked via air strikes. The conflict has only worsened, with Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini killed in the attacks.
