Gokulam Kerala had to settle for just a point from their first home match of the Indian Football League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Namdhari FC at the Payyanad Stadium on Saturday.
The hosts took the lead through Thabiso Brown’s goal in the first half. Lihat juga asd4. Seilenthang Lotjem then brought the Punjab team back into the match with his goal in the second half.
Gokulam led the way thanks to some good work from Brown. He was smart enough to move the net on the second chance he got after an excellent back pass from Francisco Borges. A fine piece of defending from Namdhari’s Lamine Moro, from just inside the penalty area, had initially prevented Brown from striking, but the latter recovered quickly enough to break the deadlock.
Namdhari’s attempts to find an equalizer ultimately succeeded late in the second half. A beautiful square pass from the penalty area by Abdoulaye Diallo was neatly converted by Seilenthang Lotjem.
This was the second draw in as many matches for both teams.
