UEFA Champions League 2025-26: Chelsea’s Pedro Neto avoids ban for pushing ball boy

Chelsea winger Pedro Neto is free to play in the Champions League last 16 tie against Paris Saint-Germain after being shown a yellow card last week for pushing a ball boy, UEFA said on Monday.

The Portuguese forward apologized for the incident that took place during PSG’s 5-2 first-leg win at the Parc des Princes.

A UEFA investigation found Neto guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct and added a booking to his disciplinary record.

He will be available for Tuesday’s second leg at Stamford Bridge.

«We were losing and in the emotion of the match I wanted to grab the ball quickly and gave it a little push,» Neto told broadcaster TNT Sports after the match msdi.

«I’m not like that. It was in the heat of the moment and I want to apologize. I gave him my shirt. I’m really sorry – I feel like I have to apologize to him.»
