Arizona Trail Day 3 11/3/25

He moon It was so light during the night that I had to tie a scarf around my eyes to sleep. When it finally got going 3:30 a.m.The sky was completely transformed. He stars absolutely exploded, and it seemed like every time he looked up, he caught another meteoritecrossing the sky

I broke camp at first light to cover as many interesting kilometers as possible. About three miles later, I reached a trailhead and filled my bottles at a huge water tank.

The next source of water was a small runoff from a livestock pond which was my last reliable option for the rest of the day. I loaded a full gallon treated both with Quick drawing of the platypus filter and my sterip. There was a cattle tank about a mile away that was flowing well but I was already loaded. I filtered and drank a liter there just in case.

Today’s trail was more exposed than the last two. At 11 o’clock I deployed my umbrella and I kept it up until lunch. I took a break at noon in a shady area next to a dry stream wash.

I traveled the remaining nine miles and finally reached the Casa Blanca trailhead where my prearranged transportation was waiting for me. Maria from Camping Terra Sol took me to Patagoniainforming me of the terrain as we drove. After setting up my equipment and taking a much needed showerI grabbed one of the campsite’s bikes and pedaled into town.

The first stop was Red Mountain Market for quick replenishment. Then it was time for dinner at the Eliza Food Truck. Then I pedaled towards the Wagon Wheel Salon for some cold beers and dinner number two.
