The wind was hitting when we woke up. The other hikers who stayed in the shelter with us were out before opening their eyes. It is forecast that the rain would begin to throw around 7 am, so we took our time this morning.
The weather ended not being so bad, so we put ourselves on the road before seven with our rain jackets ready.
The wind and gray put us, and we stayed with our first spikes. The Goose Eye range was incredibly great. It was full of joy when we reached the exposed beak and we could see everything around us. It was sunny and windy.
While we moved to Goose Eye East Peak, the wind raised a notch. We saw hikers on our way, and one of his packages of packages came out of his pack, so that they would never see him again. It was like that Katy Perry song.
We approached Goose Eye West Peak and we had to throw the rain jackets due to intermittent rain. It was like the Pate Calvo again.
We left the exhibited section and realized that we were just a few miles from the New Hampshire border. Maine was about to be path of paths.
The whole day was slow and exhausting. The land was hard, and there were many rocks and mud swamps. Yesterday, we allowed ourselves a very short day to overcome some of the «toughest miles», but it could have been more justified today.
Tomorrow, we arrive in Gorham and we will be in the city for at least one night. We are thinking of taking a second night to have our first official zero and rest our legs before whites. Things will only become more difficult from here, so it is better to start with clear minds and rested bodies.
