FIFA announced plans on Wednesday for a final round of World Cup ticket sales.
World football’s governing body said more than one million tickets had been sold at the end of the previous release between December and February, and additional tickets would go on general sale on April 1 until the end of the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19.
The latest phase comes after FIFA president Gianni Infantino declared in January that demand for tickets was the equivalent of “1,000 years of the World Cup in one go” and that all 104 matches of the final edition of the cup would be sold out.
FIFA has faced criticism over its ticket pricing strategy for the tournament, which is co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico yfbr.
Fans accused FIFA of a «monumental betrayal» in December when tickets went on general sale, ranging from $140 for the cheapest group matches to $8,680 for the final.
Football Supporters Europe (FSE) said on Tuesday it had lodged a formal complaint with the European Commission over the prices, together with consumer group Euroconsumers.
For the first time during a World Cup, FSE has criticized exorbitant prices and the use of ‘dynamic pricing’, which could further increase costs.
How to buy tickets for FIFA World Cup 2026?
The tickets will be available here: FIFA.com/tickets.
The link will remain active from April 1 until the end of the tournament. FIFA said the remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
It said the latest phase would allow fans to select specific seats, while those who have already purchased tickets will be able to see which seats they have been allocated from April 1.
FIFA will also reopen the official Resale/Exchange Marketplace to eligible ticket holders on Thursday, April 2 via the same link — FIFA.com/tickets.
