IFL 2025-2026: Diamond Harbor fights back to draw 1-1 with Rajasthan United

Rajasthan United FC held Diamond Harbor FC to a 1-1 draw in the 2025-26 I-League season at the Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.

Jonathan Fernandes put the home side ahead from the penalty spot, while R. Ramdinthara equalized for the visitors.

Diamond Harbor remains second in the table with 10 points, behind Sreenidi Deccan FC on goal difference. Rajasthan United remains fifth with eight points from five games.

Rajasthan United head coach Vikrant Sharma made one forced substitution, with Pragyan Sundar Gogoi replacing the injured Pedro Astray. Meanwhile, Diamond Harbor’s Kibu Vicuna made two attacking substitutions, bringing Jobby Justin into the line-up in place of Ramdinthara and handing a start to Girik Khosla in place of Mohit Mittal.

Both sides threatened in the first ten minutes. Fernandes shot wide from the edge of the box for Rajasthan United, while at the other end Luka Majcen failed to hit the target with a free header after being picked out by Justin.

Opportunities were limited as both teams struggled for control in midfield, with set pieces providing the best openings in a tightly contested encounter. The closest both sides came in the first half was when Justin whipped in a low cross from the right, which goalkeeper Bhabindra Malla Thakuri parried into a dangerous area. The loose ball fell to Antonio Moyano, but a last-ditch tackle from Gogoi denied him.

The goalkeepers were otherwise largely untested, with both teams going into halftime goalless.

The home side hit the woodwork again when substitute Naoba Meitei saw his long-range effort hit the crossbar.

Diamond Harbor found the equalizer in the 82nd minute. Moyano slid a through ball into the path of Ramdinthara, who timed his run well before finishing from a tight angle.

The visitors pushed for a winner late and came close several times. Substitute Hugo Diaz hit the crossbar, while Moyano had a shot blocked. On the other hand, William Pauliankhum failed to direct his header on target in injury time.

Both teams settled for a point.
