Croatia beats Colombia 2-1 in the warm-up for the World Cup


Croatia secured a 2-1 victory over Colombia in a World Cup warm-up match on Thursday, overturning an early deficit with goals from Luka Vskovic and Igor Matanovic.

Jhon Arias gave Colombia the lead in the third minute. His deflected shot beat Croatian goalkeeper Ivica Ivusic after a clever backheel from Luis Suarez.

Croatia responded three minutes later when Vuskovic scored a brilliant equalizer from outside the penalty area, his shot bouncing off the post and into the net s4tg2ed.

Croatia completed the turnaround in the 42nd minute after Colombian goalkeeper Camilo Vargas misjudged a high ball and Matanovic took advantage of the error to head into the bottom corner.

Colombia has been drawn in Group K for the World Cup from June 11 to July 19 in North America, alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan and a play-off winner, while Croatia is in Group L with England, Ghana and Panama.
