The All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) Executive Committee (EC) has proposed to reduce the match time for Indian players, in particular strikers, by reducing the number of foreign players in both the Indian Super League (ISL) and the I-League.
The decision, taken in consultation with the technical committee of the body, was announced during the EC meeting on Wednesday.
In the same meeting it was also announced that Spaniard Manolo Marquez would break up and leave his role of the head coach of the National Team of the Indian men.
Another decision that was made during the meeting was the idea of a feasibility study that will be carried out to investigate the possibility of placing U-23 national teams in the i-League, as part of the long-term preparations for the Asian Games.
The EC also agreed to the usability of the implementation of these changes in consultation with Clube owners and the League Management, to ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of the national team.
