England triumphed at the European Championships, winning back-to-back titles, but it was Spain who were crowned world champions in 2023.
England, number 4 in the world, secured victory against number 1 Spain through Hemp’s goal, which was slotted in from an early corner. Spain’s Alexia Putellas thought she had cleared the attempt, but could not prevent it from crossing the line.
The 2027 Women’s World Cup will be held in Brazil.
