Defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant jumped to the top of the standings with a narrow 1-0 win over NorthEast United FC in a rain-interrupted 2025-2026 Indian Super League match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.
Robson Robinho’s strike in the first half, created by Sahal Abdul Samad, was the difference between the two teams.
The second half had a delayed start of 75 minutes after heavy rain made the outfield unsuitable for play.
The win puts the Mariners top of the table with 18 points from nine matches, ahead of second-placed Mumbai City, who have 18 points from as many matches.
