Last time I was reminded that I need to search further. One of the tragedies of our modern world is light pollution. Sometimes I wonder what the night sky was like before the invention of electricity. I bet it was even brighter than the night sky on the way. For me, looking at the countless stars, it is easy to believe in a Creator God.
Thoughts on the trail
You have a lot of time to think while you walk. One thought I had today, it’s an amazing love that God redeemed an atheist like me who hated Him.
Another random thought: They must be low on white paint in Georgia. I’ve hiked other sections of the AT and it seems like there are white blazes every 100 yards. In Georgia, there are certain sections where it seems like you walk half a mile before you see another white fire. And when you do, it has faded enough that it is barely visible. I’m not really complaining too much. The trail is very worn due to all the foot traffic and they have signs at all the crossings.
I enjoy having my agenda organized. If someone asks me what my plans are for any given day… all I can say is… walk. You know, when I’m tired, I stop and sleep. When I’m hungry, I eat. I keep walking.
Views
Today there were great views atop Ramrock Mountain and Big Cedar Ledges above Woody Gap. The weather has been ideal for views and, at higher elevations, the trees have not yet fully unfurled their leaves.

people i met
First, I met Steve today on the road. I had not downloaded the correct section in the FarOut app. I helped him locate the next best source of water.
Then I met another lady on a climb who needed water to get to the next source. I gave him a liter.
Final thoughts
No more final thoughts for today. Another great day on the AT.
