Two stoppage time goals in the space of three minutes completed a late turnaround as Sreenidi Deccan FC registered a 2-1 win over 10-man Rajasthan United FC in the I-League 2025-26 Championship Phase match at the Namdhari Football Stadium.
The result helped the Deccan Warriors rise to second place, while Rajasthan United had to rue Shafeel PP’s red card that shifted the momentum. It remained fourth while its title hopes were dented.
The match got off to a chaotic start, with both sides taking time to settle into the heat. Sreenidi Deccan enjoyed early possession more, but Rajasthan United gradually found control in midfield after the first quarter.
Rajasthan United took the lead in the 54th minute when Isaac Nortey struck from a free-kick from 40 yards out and found the top corner with a left-foot effort.

The turning point came in the 60th minute when Shafeel PP was sent off for a push on Deepak, forcing Rajasthan United to play the rest of the match with 10 men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Rajasthan United defended deep and held the lead for a long time, but Sreenidi Deccan found the breakthrough in stoppage time.
Habib Idrissou scored the equalizer in the second minute of extra time after a long throw-in.
Three minutes later, Castaneda completed the turnaround with a right-footed free kick from distance, sealing the victory.
