John Stones will leave Manchester City at the end of the season

Manchester City defender John Stones will leave the club at the end of the current season, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.

He joined Man City in 2016 and was Pep Guardiola’s second signing. He played 293 games in that time and recorded 19 goals and nine assists.

«They say all good things must come to an end… but this thing we’ve had has been the best, and it will always be a part of me,» the 31-year-old said in a post on social media.

Stones has won 19 major trophies with Man City, including six Premier Leagues and their first UEFA Champions League title. His most recent victory came last month when Man City defeated Arsenal in the League Cup final.

Man City remain in the race to win the Premier League and FA Cup this season, second in the table with 70 points, three behind Arsenal, but with a game in hand.
