Inter Milan could be crowned Serie A champions before they even kick a ball against Parma on Sunday.
Cristian Chivu’s side are ten points ahead of second-placed Napoli and twelve points ahead of AC Milan with four rounds to go.
A home win against Parma on Sunday evening would guarantee Inter the title. Depending on the results of Napoli and Milan, a point could also be enough.
But Inter could clinch the title before kick-off at San Siro if Napoli lose in their Champions League chase to Como on Saturday and Milan fail to beat Sassuolo around four hours before Inter’s match.
It would be a first managerial trophy for Chivu, whose only previous experience as a senior coach before joining Inter was 13 games in charge of Parma at the end of last season.
Inter could also win the league and cup double when they face Lazio in the Italian Cup final on May 13.
