East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon will leave the club at the end of the ongoing 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season, he announced on Sunday.
“I would like to announce that it is my decision not to continue in East Bengal when we conclude the season on May 31,” Bruzon said at the pre-match press conference against Mumbai City on Tuesday.
Bruzon also said that assistant coach Adrian Rubio and coach Javier Sanchez will also leave the team after the final four games of the season.
Bruzon joined the club in October 2024, succeeding Carles Cuadrat. He previously worked as assistant manager of Mumbai City for Nicolas Anelka in 2015.
The Spaniard has 43 appearances for East Bengal in all competitions to his name, with 21 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses.
«The decision is mine. It has nothing to do with the economy. It has nothing to do with the uncertainty of Indian football. It has nothing to do with the club management, who may or may not want me to continue. It has nothing to do with the position we are going to reach in the ISL,» he said.
