FIFA hands Mohammedan Sporting Transfer Prohibition on unpaid contribution to Alexis Gomez

Global Football Body FIFA has made a transfer ban on Mohammedan Sporting after it had not paid the Argentinian midfielder Alexis Nahuel Gomez his contribution in the 2024-25 season.

«We want to inform the parties that a ban on registering new players has been implemented internationally and nationally by FIFA on the respondent,» FIFA said in a letter of 7 July.

«The prohibition of registration remains active until the amount due is paid and for a maximum duration of a maximum of three full and consecutive registration periods,» FIFA added.

Gomez, who came to the Black Panthers in 2023, helped them win the I-League and last year to earn the subsequent promotion to the Indian Super League. For two seasons in the Kolkata -based club, he scored four goals and assisted 10.

The 25-year-old is currently playing for Persijap Jepara in the Indonesian Prime Minister Division.

This is the second that such prohibition on the club is imposed in one week.

On July 3, the club received a similar ban for not deleting the contribution of the Uzbeek midfielder Mirjalol Kasimov, which amounts to around 40 Lakh rupees.

«We withdrew an earlier prohibition of the AIFF a few weeks ago for around 24 Lakh coupies. Sports star.

«The total contribution is about four to five months, and we will soon pay them to prepare ourselves (for the next season),» he said.

Kasimov, 29, moved to India from Uzbekistan Pro League, the most important division of his country, in 2022, which joins Neroca FC with Aral Samali PFK. He moved to Mohammedan SC the following season and helped win the i-League and protect promotion in the ISL.

He played in the ISL 18 times last season, scored twice and set up another in an otherwise forgetful campaign for the club, where it ended the table at the bottom.

The prohibition seriously conjured up the transfer plans of Mohammedan Sporting for the coming season, but the manager, Dipendu Biswas, did not want to respond to the same when Sports star handed to him.

Mohammedan is planned to open his Durand Cup campaign against Diamond Harbor Football Club on July 28 in the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.

It started his domestic season in the Calcutta Football League with a 2-2 draw with Calcutta Police Club and is expected to keep the core of this team, in the Durand Cup.
