Barcelona rose to the top of European football again on Saturday by beating its most legendary rival Lyon (OL Lyonnes) 4-0 in a stunning second half in the Women’s Champions League final.
Barcelona forward Ewa Pajor has lost in her first five visits to the European title match, but the former Wolfsburg star made her sixth attempt count with two goals.

Pajor struck with a darting low shot in the 55th minute and a close-range finish in the 69th as Barcelona’s attack lined up to score past the stretched Lyon defense.
Salma Paralluelo turned the screw on Lyon by firing a rising shot to the left in the 90th and adding another slick finish in stoppage time.
The decisive first goal was set up by a quick 40-metre run and assist from Patri Guijarro, who was often overlooked in a great midfield alongside Ballon d’Or winners Aitana Bonmatí and Alèxia Putellas.
Barcelona have won all four domestic and international trophies this season and are four-time European champions in just six seasons – a dynasty in women’s football that replaces Lyon which dominated the previous decade. The total is only bettered by Lyon, the record eight-time European champion. The French club’s last title came in 2022.
A year ago, Barcelona were denied another trophy sweep with a surprise 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the final.
