I woke up to the sound of something lurking outside my tent just before 5am. I struggled, grabbed my headlamp, and opened the flap of my tent to discover a deer less than 5 feet away staring at me indifferently. I talked to her and asked her what she was doing so close to my tent, and she imperturbably continued grazing on the ferns I peed on the night before. Apparently those were the best tasting ones?
