France defender Ibrahima Konate will leave Liverpool when his contract expires next month after failing to agree a new contract, according to multiple British media reports on Friday.
The 27-year-old centre-back, who has spent five years on Merseyside since joining from Leipzig, had suggested last month that he was «close to a deal» with Liverpool, the BBC and other media reported.
However, according to reports, the two sides could not settle on the financial aspects of the deal.

Konate, who will be part of France’s World Cup squad from next month, becomes the third big name to leave Liverpool this summer, after Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah and Scottish defender Andy Robertson have already left.
Central defender Jeremy Jacquet joined from French side Rennes on a €70 million contract, but he is only 20 and missed the final four months of the season with a shoulder injury.
That leaves captain Virgil van Dijk, 34, in need of a senior partner if Liverpool are to correct the defensive weaknesses that undermined the season when they finished fifth in the Premier League.
