France centre-back William Saliba is doubtful for the 2026 World Cup after reports say he has not fully recovered from an injury.
The 25-year-old played all 120 minutes in Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League 2025/26 final penalty shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday despite a minor injury sustained earlier this season.
He was ruled out of France’s friendlies against Brazil and Colombia in March after «suffering from recurring pain in his left ankle.»

He then played in all of Arsenal’s matches after the international break, except the final Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
He played an important role for the London club, who won the league title after 22 years and formed a solid central defender in Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes.
France opens their World Cup campaign against Senegal on June 17, before taking on Iraq and Norway on June 23 and 27 respectively.
