Ghana Squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup – Full List of Players; Semenyo, Williams in; Kudus, Salisu out

Ghana finally announced its World Cup squad late on Monday after coach Carlos Queiroz had to juggle last-minute injury problems before finalizing his 26-man squad.

Queiroz held a press conference on Monday ahead of Ghana’s friendly against Wales in Cardiff on Tuesday but did not name the squad as expected. It was released just before FIFA’s deadline. The veteran Portuguese coach confirmed to reporters that centre-back Alexander Djiku had been injured in training this weekend and had been replaced by Dutch-born Derrick Luckassen. ⁠

Ghana have already been hit by the absence of Mohammed Kudus after he failed to recover from a thigh injury, dealing a major blow to the country’s World Cup hopes.

Mohammed Salisu also missed the match after the Monaco centre-back tore his anterior cruciate ligament during a Ligue 1 match in January. But the team did see a return after a three-year absence for 31-year-old Baba Abdul Rahman. The former Chelsea full-back was included in the 2022 World Cup squad, but has played just one international match for Ghana since then.

The Black Stars face Panama in their opening Group L match on June 17 in Toronto before taking on England and Croatia.
