Senegalese squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup – Full list of players; Sadio Mane leads the attack

Senegalese coach Pape Thiaw dropped defenders Moustapha Mbow and Ilay Camara from his provisional squad to finalize his 26-man line-up for the World Cup around FIFA’s deadline on Monday.

Paris FC centre-back Mbow and Belgian-born Anderlecht full-back Camara, who has won three caps, were included in Thiaw’s 28-man squad on May 21.

Mbow won his first cap when he played the second half from the bench in Sunday’s 3-2 friendly defeat to the United States in Charlotte, while Camara was an unused substitute.

Sadio Mane, who scored both of Senegal’s goals against the USA, remains a leading player for a star-studded Senegalese side that looks to be the most powerful of the 10 African World Cup qualifiers.

Senegal opens its World Cup campaign against France on June 16 in New Jersey, in a repeat of the 2002 World Cup encounter in which the African side emerged victorious against the then holders.

It also faces Norway at the same venue (June 22) and Iraq in Toronto (June 26) in Group I matches.
