Netherlands vs Algeria player ratings – NED v ALG report for 2026 FIFA World Cup warm-up, highlights

Winger Anis Hadj Moussa scored on his home pitch to give Algeria a surprise 1-0 away win over the Netherlands on Wednesday in the warm-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Hadj Moussa, who plays for Dutch club Feyenoord, cut down the right wing and hit a powerful shot into the far corner four minutes from time to give the North Africans a morale-boosting victory at De Kuip, where he plays his club football.

It was as much as Algeria deserved after a strong second-half performance, cheered on by a host of noisy traveling fans.

Hadj Moussa’s effort was his first international goal and spoiled the home side’s send-off before it left for New York on Thursday.

Algeria goalkeeper Luca Zidane, who wore a mask after suffering facial injuries in April, made several good stops during the match to allay concerns about the goalkeeper’s position in the squad that have been the subject of speculation in recent months.

The Dutch team will play Uzbekistan in a friendly match in New York on Monday before moving to their base in Kansas City. Their opening match in Group F is against Japan on June 14 in Dallas.

Algeria will take on World Cup holders Argentina in the opening Group J match in Kansas City on June 16. It will take on Bolivia in Kansas City next Wednesday in its final warm-up game.
